VATROSLAV LISINSKI CONCERT HALL

kd-lisinskiThe Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, named after Vatroslav Lisinski (1819-1854), composer of the first Croatian opera Love and Malice (1846), was opened in 1973. Since then, it has been a true temple of music. Aesthetically and technically remarkably formed, the Great Hall has hosted renowned symphony orchestras, famous conductors and soloists, concerts, performances and many international gatherings, conferences, symposiums and festivals. The “Svetislav Stančić” Intenational Piano Competition has been hosted here from its very beginning. Situated half way between old and new Zagreb, with its Grand Hall (1860 seats), Small Hall (300 seats), meeting rooms and a large functional lobby, this is a Music and Congress Center with an audience of about 700 000 people a year.
